These are the assignment briefs that are meant to be used with resources found under 'BTEC Creative Digital Media: Planning and Pitching'Someone has noted that the assignment numbers don't match the Unit number within the specification; this is a valid criticism. However, I chose to call the unit 'Unit 3' as it was the third topic I covered with my group; I felt that it would be less confusing for them this way. You can easily change the assignment numbers and Unit information to suit your own purposes.

These resources were created as part of the new BTEC Creative Digital Media (Jan 2013) course. The resources here are the first half of the mandatory unit on Digital Media Sectors and Audiences. Final assessment takes the form of an external exam, which is new to the course.

The second part of resources created for the new (2013) BTEC Creative Digital Media course. Included here are some assignment briefs and feedback forms - these are not formal assessments, as this unit is assessed externally, but they do work well as an introduction to working to a brief.

Resources created to use with 2013 Creative Digital Media spec. Unit is actually split in two, and should be taught alongside Unit 3, Planning and Pitching.

SOW created using a mish-mash of resources found online. Students build skills in writing using quotes as well as developing their ideas based on those presented in a text. Final assessment asks students to explain how sympathy is built towards a character within an extract.

I can not claim credit for the SOW itself, but the PPTs have all been created by myself to fit into the SOW found here. Videos are obviously not included (Back to the Future 2, The Time Machine, The Sound of Thunder, and an episode of the Simpsons are needed for the unit). Focus of the unit is to introduce students to the genre of sci-fi (specifically time travel). Formal assessment is on how and why Wells desribes the living conditions of the Eloi in The Time Machine (historical context links)

The following scheme was devised as a media based unit in English, for year 9. The final assessment is a written report, as well as a group speaking and listening assessment. The focus of the unit is representation within the fast food industry. These resources are only the first half of the unit. Please visit my website to download the rest.

The following scheme was created for use in Year 7 as a way to introduce students to media based concepts including good vs evil, DVD covers, Todorov's narrative, shot types and storyboards. The end result is a film review. Films we use are Cinderella, Tangled and Percy Jackson. Optional lessons exist tailored to film chosen by the teacher.
