This learning mat is a great resource for sixth form students as the advice contained within it is applicable to any subject that involves essay writing. There is sufficient material in the Powerpoint to cover a whole lesson. This could be used as the lesson before teaching students how to work out the surface area of 3-D shapes. In this resource, the pupils are taught how to recognise 3-D shapes before being scaffolded through how to draw them with worked examples of how to draw cuboids and cubes. There are questions for students to complete. The Powerpoint is quite interactive and there is also a strong cross-curricular link with Literacy.
