Values and Vision
City of London Academy Islington believes that academic success is achievable only when students enjoy being at school. Its vertical house system groups together students from Years 7 through to 13, adding to the family atmosphere the school is seeking to create. It works with a curriculum which is broad and balanced, and which provides children with necessary life experiences.
The school is aiming to become an outstanding academy in the near future, and is committed to improving the lives of young people from the Islington area.
“The principal provides outstanding leadership. She has acted rapidly to improve achievement and teaching and has fully involved the senior team, subject leaders and governors. The proportion of students obtaining five or more GCSE grades A* to C including English and mathematics has nearly doubled in the past year. Subject leaders monitor the quality of teaching and learning closely and are contributing very effectively to academy improvement.”
