Values and vision
Hewens College is a place of high expectations that always encourages students to achieve their personal best. With the help of an engaging and relevant curriculum, the school raises aspirations for its learners while providing the correct levels of support.
As an inclusive school, Hewens College promotes tolerance and respect. It places great importance on students, staff and parents/guardians working together to make sure that children receive the best educational experience possible.
“Leaders monitor the quality of teaching, learning and assessment systematically. This provides strong procedures to check the impact of teaching on the progress pupils make. Leaders provide an ‘open culture’ approach, which works well in the academy. A wide range of extra-curricular activities allows pupils to mix well with their peers across the academy trust. [Governors] check the progress of the academy closely and offer challenging and effective support.”
