About Hurworth School
Hurworth School is a mainstream, co-educational, non-denominational, non-selective secondary academy for children aged 11-16. It is situated in Darlington, County Durham, and there are currently 675 pupils enrolled.
Hurworth School proudly achieves GCSE pass rates that are higher than the national average. In September 2013, a new state-of-the-art sports hall and performing arts centre opened after a year-long building project.

Hurworth School’s motto is “Achieving Excellence with Care”. The academy believes in the widest possible horizons for learning and aims to achieve the finest 11-16 education to be found anywhere. It endeavours to provide a curriculum that interests and motivates pupils, enabling them to develop their knowledge and make progress at a challenging pace. The secondary school also aims to help pupils develop lively and enquiring minds.
