About Sacred Heart Secondary Catholic Voluntary Academy

Sacred Heart is a thriving, well established and successful 11-16 voluntary aided, mixed comprehensive Roman Catholic School in the Diocese of Middlesbrough. We moved into our new purpose built PFI building at the end of October 2006.  The school is now situated on Mersey Road, Redcar, and offers a highly supportive Christian environment to our varied intake, who come from a wide range of primary schools.

Sacred Heart School exists to provide a community that values Catholic traditions and beliefs

Our priorities are:

  • To care for the community
  • To encourage individual growth
  • To work towards academic success

Sacred Heart School became a designated Science College in September 2005 and underwent a very successful OfSTED Section 5 and 48 Inspection in September 2008.

Sacred Heart School is an associate member of the Redcar & Marske Specialist Schools Trust.  Working in partnership with other schools in the area to pursue a dream of achieving excellence in all areas of educational endeavour and better meeting the needs of our learning communities.
