About Thomas Bennett Community College
Thomas Bennett Community College is a co-educational secondary academy for students aged 11-18, based in Crawley, West Sussex.
Values and vision
Thomas Bennett Community College recognises that outstanding classroom learning is vital, but alone it is not enough to have a lasting impact on the lives of students. The school believes a rich and diverse curriculum is also crucial to provide experiences that will challenge individuals, inspire ambition and develop the character needed for success.
The secondary school’s aim is for every student to grow in confidence and resilience and aspire to achieve excellence in whatever they do. Staff believe students must have respect for themselves and others, as well as the integrity to always do the right thing, in order to play a responsible part in the community of the school and beyond. Thomas Bennett Community College wants every student to develop a passion for learning that will remain with them for life.
“Leaders now manage the performance of teachers rigorously… The school has started to benefit from the recent leadership and curriculum support given by The Kenmal Academy Trust. This is beginning to improve teachers’ skills and leadership at all levels. Pupils and learners achieve well in languages at GCSE, and in English literature and sports studies in the sixth form. The large majority of pupils are safe in school and understand how to keep themselves safe. Leaders work very well to ensure effective arrangements are in place to safeguard pupils.”
