About Trinity Academy
Trinity Academy is a mainstream secondary school with a sixth form located in Brixton, south-west London. This co-educational free school caters for students aged 11-18 and was opened in 2014. It can accommodate up to 840 students at full capacity.
Trinity Academy opened on the site of Lambeth College in September 2014. A Catholic ethos is at the heart of everything the school does. Teachers strive to instil in each student a desire to do good in the community, and in later life.
Values and vision
Trinity Academy has four key values: wisdom, fairness, courage and self-discipline. The school operates a "no excuses" policy – every student must maintain the highest standards of behaviour and work hard to achieve his or her potential. Trinity Academy’s ethos is based on the Catholic virtues of prudence, justice, fortitude and temperance.
While seeking to maintain academic excellence through new ways of learning and teaching, the secondary school aims to create a safe and non-judgmental environment to allow each student to learn and grow into their own skills. Staff provide an academic and creative curriculum. Every pupil studies maths, English, science, Spanish, geography, history, RE and philosophy, art and design, music and PE. French is offered as a supplementary subject, while Latin and computer science will be added in 2018.
