About Westfield Academy
Westfield Academy is a mixed, non-selective, non-denominational secondary school in Somerset serving students between the ages of 11-16. The secondary school, situated in Yeovil has approximately 728 students on record.
Westfield Academyy was established in 1975 and converted to academy status in 2011. In 2014, the Somerset secondary school was identified as good by Ofsted. The school received funding from Sports England’s Inspired Facilities Fund which was used to refurbish its outside sports facilities, including netball courts, tennis courts and floodlighting.
Values and vision
Westfield Academy’s motto is: “Seeing the qualities in every child” and wants all students to enjoy their time at the school and feel safe and happy at all times. The school works to support individual’s talents and interests in a stimulating and welcoming learning environment. The secondary school nurtures students as successful, confident lifelong learners who are both confident and responsible. Pupils are encouraged to practice these traits through incentives such as the School Council, along with becoming a prefect or house and form captain. Diversity is celebrated at the school and pupils are encouraged to understand and celebrate differences. Westfield Academy holds a Healthy Schools Plus status, along with an ICT Mark Accredited status and a Schools Curriculum Award.
