Density

This lesson package can be used at KS2, KS3 or KS4 to allow students to measure mass and volume of different materials and use these data to calculate density. To extend students, they can use data books to determine the identity of the material from its density, they can also be given density information of different liquids e.g. liquid metals, water and oil. They can then be asked to predict if the materials would float or sink in these liquids. The materials include a full lesson plan, PowerPoint Presentation with information as well as prompts for the activity and a worksheet to lead students through the lesson.

AQA Triology Cell Biology Topic Sheets

These topic sheets have the specification excerpt and then a list of key words. These are versatile resources which can be used: Before the topic - Ask students to define the key words using the text book as the first homework. During the topic - Students reflect every lesson, defining new key words that have been met in the lesson, and ticking off the specification sections that they have covered. Revision - Colour code the specification statements using a highlighter to show the parts that students are confident with (green), need to consolidate (yellow) and do not understand (pink). This can then drive their own revision. They can define the key words using their text book/notes.
