A swimming assessment framework for weak and non-confident swimmers. The assessment framework has been split into 5 stages that act as stepping stones for developing pupils water confidence. Upon completion of Stage 5 pupils would progress to the Swim England ‘Learn to Swim Stage 1’. Therefore this resource is a ‘pre-Swimming strokes’ swimming assessment toolkit. This resource would work well for teachers of pupils with SEN and primary school teachers who have pupils with low water confidence.

This resource has been used with a variety of SEND students particularly visual impairment, cognitive delay, physical impairment through CP, SLD and ASD. This topic would also work well with primary aged pupils. The resource includes 6 individualized lessons plans. They offer the students an introduction to the world of team building and orienteering.
