This resource is a 30 question European Day of Languages quiz created on Microsoft Powerpoint suitable for KS3 and KS4 secondary students. Celebrate European Day of Languages on 26th September with your classes or tutor groups with this 30 question quiz themed around the event complete with answers. There are 30 questions in this quiz varying from multiple choice general knowledge, True/False statements, multiple choice flags and matching the greetings with the correct language. The answers are then to be shared as a class by going through each question (ensure you are in present mode for the correct answer to colour green) for students to peer or self mark. *Additionally, answers are in the notes section on each slide. * I would recommend for this quiz students get into groups of no more than 4 and the activity should take no longer than 20 minutes to complete. This fun and original assembly aids children in understanding the value of being creative in all of their endeavours, through: Understanding what creativity is, and recognising why it is such an important skill; Understanding that creativity is a trait within everyone (including themselves) that should be encouraged and harnessed; Observing some amazing examples of what creativity can result in; Learning strategies to demonstrate creativity in their own lives. This assembly is tried and tested, and has always been really well received in the past. The slides are visually engaging and well-presented, and the subject matter is tailored to the interests and needs of young people. The session also includes a fun role-play task to demonstrate how everyone can be creative and the internet link to a beautiful, thought-provoking video demonstrating the power of creativity. There are also various discussion prompts to enable children to understand how they can be creative in different areas of their own lives. The slides are fairly self-explanatory, but I’ve included guidance notes to assist the speaker. Hope that you find this useful!

This assembly is based on the book by prof Steve Peters. It explains what the book is about and helps students to understand how they can change their mindset when reacting to situations. It is 16 slides in length, fully editable and includes information, questions, scenarios and video’s. There are notes with the slides to help the delivery of the content. I have presented this assembly with 6th form, KS4 and KS3 students and adapted it each time to aid understanding. I have also presented this to staff as part of a CPD course. It has been hugely successful every time I have presented it. UPDATE - I have now uploaded a new version due to there being a couple of spelling errors on the previous version.

Two-hour lesson, jam-packed with information the best ways to revise (as well as how and why) and the most common revision pitfalls, and why these don’t work. Students will complete tasks where they try out the very best methods, critique their current revision strategies, and put new plans into action which integrate all of the new and improved ideas. A revision timetable is included, where students can not only plan their time - but also add in HOW they intend to use the best revision methods they have learned about, during that time (plenary task). An emphasis is also included on sleep, healthy eating and exercise in the months leading up to the exams, to ensure maximum performance. There are loads of activities, clips, information sheets, plans and more and everything is editable to you can tweak for any class. This double lesson is engaging and very easy to follow, best suited to KS4 but also very useful for KS5 (or even KS3 end of year exams). This Revision + Study Skills lesson covers all the best techniques for GCSE revision and gives the students activities in order to apply and practice their new skills in any subjects of their choice.
