Angular motion - A Level PE
21 page powerpoint on Angular motion, angular velocity, moment of inertia, axes of rotation and angular momentum.
includes exam style questions, some with exemplar answers and others with essay plans.
This is a tough section of the course but I have tried to make it simple and enjoyable for pupils with this animated and interactive powerpoint.
designed for the OCR spec but adaptable
change slides, add objectives etc as you wish.
This download contains all you need to teach OCR A-LEVEL PE topic 1.3b - Linear motion, Angular motion, Fluid mechanics & Projectile motion including:
PowerPoint presentations containing all vital content
Worksheets to use with students in or out of class as starter or home-learning task
Practice exam questions & end of unit assessments
Topic summary booklet containing key information, spaces for student’s notes and exam questions from the angular motion topic within the OCR A Level Physical Education specification.
A series of lessons including fun, differentiated activities to teach Angular Motion (Biomechanics OCR A LEVEL PE). My pupils responded really well to this.
Suitable for SQA Advanced Higher Physics or equivalent.
A short set of questions that could be used as a classroom task, short assessment or homework - formatted with spaces for student answers.
Focus: Angular motion, centripetal force with questions about horizontal circular motion, vertical circular motion and conical pendulum.
Solutions included in separate document.
This pack is for teachers/students studying the A-LEVEL P.E (AQA) course. The content covers ANGULAR MOTION from BIOMECHANICAL MOVEMENT, PAPER 2.
The pack includes 1 presentation covering the content over 5 lessons. Within this presentation you will find extended tasks focused on application of knowledge, interactive graphics, video links and ‘do it now’ recap tests to consolidate knowledge from the previous lesson. You will also receive an end of topic test with mark scheme for lesson 6.
Within this pack, you will also receive 29 revision cards that I created in the form of PLC’s. They are extremely effective, easy to use and accessible for your learners. They are designed to develop recall of knowledge (A01).
Lesson 1: Angular motion and axis of rotation.
Lesson 2: Moment of force/torque.
Lesson 3: Angular analogues of Newton's laws.
Lesson 4: Quantities used in angular motion.
Lesson 5: Conservation of angular momentum and moment of inertia.
Lesson 6: End of topic test.
Please, if you purchase and find this resource helpful - I would be extremely grateful if you could leave a review.
These REVISION CARDS are for teachers/students studying the NEW AQA A-LEVEL P.E specification. This resource covers content from ANGULAR MOTION within BIOMECHANICAL MOVEMENT - PAPER 2.
The cards develop recall of knowledge (A01) and covers all elements of the AQA specification. There are 29 REVISION CARDS within this resource. This resource enables effective EXAM PREPARATION and can be easily embedded within lessons.
If you find this resource helpful, I would be extremely grateful if you could leave a review.
This resource is directly linked to the A Level OCR PE specification. It includes a Powerpoint and an amazing slide that can be printed out onto A3 as a worksheet for the class to work through practical questions and past paper questions to test/revise/learn.
This covers topic 2: Exercise Physiology and Applied Movement Analysis: 2.5.Angular Motion. You get the students worksheet, teachers worksheet with answers and powerpoint. Students will have to use books as well to answer the questions as there are independent studies in the worksheet. Plus exam questions at the end. Please note that you may need to alter the powerpoint as I do my lesson on a mac. Furthermore, I am dyslexic, so please excuse some mistakes, thank you.
Learning Objectives
Understanding of how angular motion is applied in a sporting context.
• Describe the factors affecting moment of inertia: mass and distribution of mass from axis of rotation.
• Analyse effects of increasing or decreasing the moment of inertia when rotating around axes (whole body or specific joint).
Edexcel A Level PE
Year 2 Chapter 4 – Angular Motion, Projectile Motion & Fluid Mechanics
Powerpoint Presentation and supplementary booklet
All areas of the specification are covered in this user friendly powerpoint. Each slide is linked to a page in the booklet allowing students to make their notes in an easy to use manor and keep all resources organised. Each booklet also contains past paper questions linked to this topic.
Complete PPTs:

B2.3.1 - Movement Analysis and Its Applications
HL:
B2.1 Forces, Motion, and Power
B2.2.2 and B2.2.3 Fluid Mechanics Cont.
A great revision resource to get pupils to improve their AO1 knowledge. Good for starters, plenaries or to hand out to pupils to revise from. If printed, they can easily be cut into pocket size cards which will allow pupils to revise on the move.
All key terms for angular motion. Although these key terms are used in AQA they can be used across Edexcel and OCR.
This lesson follows the AQA Physics: A Level Year 2 textbook https://amzn.to/3DG6pIP
The lesson is complete and designed to be taught over a period of 90 minutes. It is fully animated and contains fully worked out answers to every question.
Learning objectives
Recognise uniform in a circle
Describe what you need to measure to find the speed of an object moving in uniform circular motion
Define angular displacement and angular speed
The format
