These resources are to be used for Component 2 Learning Aim B only. It is the FULL learning aim up to Distinction level.
The spreadsheet to use with this resource is the BTEC Holiday data XLS file (attached).
I have used the BTEC specification document criteria to create a Step by Step guide (37 pages long) with screen shots, up to Distinction level along with the document template (10 pages long) . I have also included the BTEC spreadsheet and a checklist for both student and teacher so they can clearly see what has been achieved. (Pass, Merit or fail).
This guide has been used by myself and others in our department and we have found to be invaluable.
Obviously, this guide is to be used professionally by teachers at their discretion, but it is very adaptable and allows students to complete work by themselves following the simple guide (especially those self isolating, home schooled or absent). The guide itself has a contents list which is referred to throughout, in the document template.
What I would suggest, is that teacher follows the Step by Step guide themselves to create the dashboard before issuing to students so they are familiar with the contents. (Starters and Plenarys can be made from part of the guide to show students how to do particular functions and formulas)
These documents save a lot of time and are obviously adaptable to the teachers individual needs. - (Time required to follow the guide approx. 2 hours for a teacher with knowledge) - Students 6 hours plus
Please do not upload these documents to social networking sites to share with peers as it has taken me a long time to produce these document for you to use. Please point them to the TES section instead. Thank you!

Written in simple terms, based on areas Year 11 2020 struggled on in preparation for the February exam.
This resource can be used to ease marking of NEA for Design and Technology. The specific language is taken directly from the AQA mark scheme, but it has been put in chart form with areas identified, so that different mark bands can be easily seen for each section of the NEA. This is a new resource this year for my department, this type of format has helped a lot in Food for several years. It can also be shared with students so they can see how to progress to higher marks using simplified terms. Simply tick the box that you think the students work fits into for that section and the use that information to make your judgement about each section, information can then be transfered easily to the AQA official paperwork.
Example of Assignment A - for Unit 4 (Programming) for the BTEC Extended Diploma in Information Technology Level 3 - Distinction Grade.
This assignment can be useful to show students as an example of what is expected / required for a distinction grade.
The assignment scenario was to create a Wiki page discussing computational thinking skills and its use within programming. The assignment also had to include software design principles and the different programming languages used to create applications.
As per all BTEC assignments to achieve distinction level, the assignment must include:
Explanation - Pass criteria
Analysis - Merit criteria
Evaluation - Distinction criteria.
75 PowerPoint slides of short starter questions for each lesson. Covers all topics throughout the OCR Cambridge Nationals Information Technologies course
The purpose of this study is to analyse what is happening at schools regarding the integration and use of information and communication technologies (ICT) and to examine teachers’ perceptions about what teaching and learning processes can be improved through the use of ICT. A multiple-case-study research methodology was applied. From a previous exploratory research, four different types of schools were determined. Data show there is a widespread view that ICT in teaching favours several teaching and learning processes.
