5 rounds with 30+ quiz questions combined! Great for those end of term filler lessons and to have a bit of fun with the pupils! Let’s Celebrate British Science Week 2026!
To be honest, this resource has taken many more hours than I would have liked as it has taken a lot of brain power and creativity to come up with interesting rounds! ‘Curiosity’ has been another challenging one!
I’ve aimed this for Year 10 but could be used from Year 7-13.
I’ve designed this year’s quiz around the theme of Curiosity, the questions that spark discovery, the observations that change the world, and the myths that need challenging.
Rounds include:
Curious Questions: Big, thought-provoking scientific questions from “Why is the sky blue?” to “What animal is famously killed by curiosity?” Each question has four possible answers. Choose wisely.
Mystery Objects: A selection of unusual scientific instruments and technology will be shown. Your task is not simply to name them, but to work out: What are they used for? Curiosity is about understanding purpose, not just labels.
Accidental Discoveries: Some of the greatest scientific breakthroughs happened by accident, but only because someone was curious enough to ask, “Why did that happen?” Each question includes four possible answers.
Curiosity vs Myth: Not everything we “know” is true. In this round, you’ll decide whether common scientific claims are fact or fiction. Challenge assumptions. Question everything.
Logic Puzzles: Science isn’t just facts, it’s thinking. This round tests your reasoning skills with riddles, patterns, deduction puzzles and “liar” challenges.
Currently in PowerPoint. Should transfer to Google Slides with relative ease. I’ve put a PDF of the team sheet for easy printing.
This resource includes:
• PowerPoint with questions and answers
• Team answer sheet
Any issues or errors please let me know and I’ll rectify ASAP.

As a Secondary Science teacher, Deputy Headteacher, writer and examiner for many years I make high quality no-prep lessons so busy teachers can teach outstanding lessons without spending hours planning. These high quality lessons include explanations, different types of in-lesson assessment (all with answers) and unique exam questions.
My lessons are ideal for non-Physicists - as a Biologist who retrained as a Physics teacher I know how to take learners on a journey that builds up their understanding step by step, while still going into a lot of depth. The preview videos show a representative sample of slides from each resource so that you get a good idea of what it includes before you buy.
Teaching Order
Transverse and Longitudinal Waves
Wave Properties (Wavelength, Amplitude, Frequency, Period)
Wave Speed Equation and Required Practicals: Ripple Tank & Vibrating String
Electromagnetic Spectrum
Refraction
Absorbing, Emitting and Dangers of Electromagnetic Waves
Uses of Electromagnetic Waves
Required Practical: Infrared
What’s Included in each lesson:
• Starter / Do Now Activity
• Explanation slides in “chunked” sections with animated diagrams.
• Worked examples of calculations / questions.where applicable
• Multiple questions in different question styles and difficulties - no need for worksheets. Each “chunked” explanation section typically includes a set of “learning check / quick questions” followed by a set of in-depth questions on the learning from that “chunk” of the lesson. All questions have answers.
• Exam-style questions on the whole lesson at the end of the lesson- these are unique, based on real exam questions but not just copied from exam boards.
• Answers for all questions
• All easily editable to adapt to your teaching or to use in existing lessons.
• Slightly humorous, at points, if you like that sort of thing.
The lessons were written for AQA GCSE Science / Physics but are very likely to be applicable to other exam specifications.
Please leave a rating / review and all other feedback gratefully received!
