National Travel and Tourism - Scotland Unit

(0)
Exciting news! Entire revised updated Scotland Unit now available for National Travel and Tourism in a 28 page PDF file that you can pick activities from with additional attached Sways. The unit is engaging and colourful with fun activities to meet the outcomes with lots of exemplars and guidance. “Outlander” and “Dark Tourism” are used as trends that students immediately find interesting, as well as activities on pushing products on social media. Students are also encouraged to set up their own agency and promote it using social media. In addition, they are encouraged to think about interior design in holiday rentals and the use of AI in that design. Indeed, they can start to think about their own wellbeing with simple changes they can make to be more “coorie”. The resource also includes access to two free Sway presentations. One provides exemplars for helping with mapping, the use of AI in designing, and understanding marketing and hospitality. The other allows the completion of positives and negatives of tourism in Scotland using the North Coast 500 as a case study, including links to relevant websites and film clips. This booklet is flexible. Material can be used in format presented or uploaded onto Teams/OneNote for digital use. Why give yourself extra work and stress when you can download this complete resource! Find out more here -https://youtu.be/CUZxCxEBD8c?si=08s4I1Tal4INGhjo

2.2 Demonstrate awareness of different time zones and climates © Influence of climate on tourism (relief, temperature, sunshine, precipitation, humidity, wind, hazards) This resource includes lesson objectives (linked to Cambridge curriculum, but could be tweaked for others), starter, main activity, plenary and exam practice. For the main activity, I would recommend printing out A4 maps in black and white for students to label the various impacts of climate change globally. I’ve found this particularly useful for lower ability students in grasping concepts and remembering various examples when completing exam practice.
