I created this PowerPoint so that my department could go through the key elements during the first week back with Yr 10 to introduce the course and the new GCSE Edexcel requirements.
An assessment model for all years based on the new Edexcel draft specification and materials. It is in the same format as silviaroberts AQA model for easy comparison. Speaking model also uploaded. I would welcome any feedback.
20 Grammar-based tasks with answers to practise the final grammar cloze test in the Edexcel Pearson German International GCSE Reading and Writing Paper 2.
The twenty tasks are based around the topics of the IGCSE and there are varied levels of difficulty.
Each task contains a passage in German with ten missing verbs and adjectives, which the pupils must put into the correct form to complete the passage.
The passages and answer format are structured exactly as the task appears in the IGCSE.
The tasks would also be good practice or revision for Year 12 students.
This pack contains my revision work for IGCSE German which helped me to attain a grade 9 in 2019. They include model answers to about 15 common questions per topic that could come up in either the writing or speaking parts of the exam. Moreover there is a document containing key idiomatic expressions to help raise your German to a higher level, alongside a document which summarises most of the key grammar needed at IGCSE.
A new set of IGCSE speaking questions, based on the Edexcel specification topic areas, broken down into sub-sections.
Extension (or possibly challenge) questions are highlighted in red, and a range of tenses covered, as well as the ‘warum ist es wichtig, dass…’ type questions.
A speaking booklet based on the questions in the back of the Stimmt Edexcel booklet - although I've changed a couple of the sillier questions. Includes the Edexcel mark scheme.
Apologies if there are any spelling mistakes.
A marksheet to record coursework of your classes. You only need to add their name, first name, form, predicted grade or anything you might want to add for info... then everytime you complete a coursework, enter their mark in the column "Mark /20", a grade will appear and the total column will also fill itself up. Once the final grade is a C it turns green, B yellow and A or A* orange. Very good visual for students and yourself to track down where your students are working at. Any queswtions, please don't hesitate to leave your comments!
This is a ppt and game to practice describing a picture as per the Edexcel Foundation Written paper and as an introduction to the speaking. It is written for Year 9 who are starting a 3 year GCSE.
This is a whole lesson based on Edexcel textbook which I used for a fab observation. Pupils are doing first a differentiated reading activity aimed at eliciting key vocab about family structures (verheiratet, geschieden, getrennt, elleinerziehende Mutter etc...). Then it consolidates use of the subordinating conjunctions/ verb scarers. Moreover, it has a very funny Gedaechtnisspiel which the kids love and makes them speak in the target language.
Hope you like it!
A series of lesson resources covering the topic of school. Suitable for higher ability KS3 or GCSE level. Resources includes an example of a DIRT lesson.
This is a complete lesson and set of resources which are designed to be used with AQA/EDEXCEL Stimmt GCSE German (Higher) – Kapitel 8 – Umwelt macht Schule – Page 169
Document listing the unexpected questions that have appeared in Edexcel GCSE German role plays (not 2018 or 2019 as I’ve used those as mocks) and also the sample role plays from Edexcel. Covers both higher and foundation, lots of higher questions are repeated so that list is shorter. Also covers questions that the candidates have to ask for both tiers and has an exercise to help candidate to form question structures. English hints written in a German word order so they look a bit strange!

This resource aims at making students familiar with the kind of target language included in the speaking, listening, reading and writing papers of the new GCSE exam, which the first cohort will face in 2018. It is full of activities aimed at memorising the key words so that the pupils are able to decode the exam task, which is fundamental to allow the pupil to respond to the task appropriately.
