(0)
A great resource for teaching students the key points for successful shooting. This resource illustrates the key points using the acronym BEEF, students are encouraged to work together providing feedback for effective peer assessment, the reverse of the worksheet can be effectively used to encourage the students to complete their own self assessment - great for AFL. The work sheets compliments the others in the series.

A set of two recourses that can be used in the classroom for peer and self assessment. Resource 1 - kind, specific, helpful. This resource is best used for peer assessment It provides learners with clear guidelines for providing specific and useful feedback to their peers using the three headlines The sentence starters prompt learners to highlight specific areas of the piece of work Resource 2 - emerging, developing and advancing This recourse works well as peer and self assessment Learners should use the generic writing success criteria to identify whether the piece of work they are reading is emerging, developing and advancing This encourages learners to engage with the success criteria and to become more aware of it when writing themselves.

Popcorn - Peer/Self Assessment Questions

(1)
Stand alone peer and self assessment questions. The first three pages are peer assessment questions and I print these on cream paper, the last three pages are self assessment questions and I print these on white paper. They are then screwed up to look like popcorn and popped into the popcorn tubs. Students take a question and either discuss it with their partner or complete the question in their books for self assessment. They then screw it back up and pop it back in the tub. They are generalised questions so can suit any lesson as a quick and easy plenary. I have the tubs ready to go and just put them out on desks at the end of a lesson.

Display this powerpoint at the end of a lesson. It shows symbols used for self assessment and a range of sentence starters for pupils to record in their books for both self and peer assessment. The sentence starters are general and should be applicable to all subjects. Saves a lot of time rather than recording red pen questions for individual children.

Teacher, Self and Peer-Assessment

I hope this set of this resources will be useful and also hope that it will give teachers and students more opportunities for quick day-to-day assessment with an elegant vibe to it. This resource can be used at Primary level, SEN and Secondary for struggling students and it is not subject orientated. Please add comments on practicality, usefulness and any new suggestions for improvement. This would be very helpful. The PDF is made of four different assessments: teacher, self, peer and self-assessment for final outcome. The teacher assessment, in green, has two differentiated forms with the first one (Unit) having more space to describe the progress from 0-5 (each teacher can put their own descriptions based on individual student needs for marking process for each unit of any subject) and on the right-hand side, more space to focuses on Tick- what went well, Target -even better if or Question instead of all of them at the same time. The bottom bar gives teacher to quickly mark working and learning characteristics such as: not available to engage or with help. The second form is very similar but more for every-day marking: 0 - no effort, 1-minimal effort, 2-sporadic effort, 3-good effort, 4-excellent effort and 5-maximum effort. The next assessment in red is the self-assessment. This can be used for every day, end of lesson work where individual students can describe their progress, add comments and initiate dialogue with the teacher. Peer assessment in purple allows other students to comment on their peers progress and, with the help of the word bank, express their opinion and add improvement suggestions. The final one is another self-assessment, but this time for the final outcome where students can express and describe their personal progress. I am digital designer with a teachers background and I can always try to build individual more complex resources if needed. Happy marking.

Self/Peer Assessment Templates

(1)
Exactly as stated. A self and peer assessment template which can be easily copied and used to guide students’ reflections on any given activity. Suitable for all subjects and guides them to provide a WWW (what went well) and an EBI (even better if) comment. Really useful as a 5 minute mini-plenary activity to check understanding and provide students with quick feedback. It is best used alongside a clear success criteria which they can use to form their comments to ensure they are constructive.
