I’m super proud of this resource. I created it for an Ofsted observation and the HMI called it ‘Genius’. That was a first!
Aimed at KS4 SEND students, it’s got clear literacy and life skills links and can be easily adapted to suit most topics. I’ve left the WALT and differentiated WILFs to show how I used it, but the money cards blank so you can input whatever content that is most relevant to you.
Included:
Colourful, funny and pacy presentation with challenge opportunities and subject matter that the students can relate to.
Question cards with different monetary values (these are slides at the end of the presentation)
Engaging collaborative task
Opportunities for self-assessment
Full, detailed lesson plan
You can use fake money or create your own. I downloaded this fantastic resource and edited it to reflect my school: https://www.tes.com/teaching-resource/your-school-bank-notes-6160301
Please let me know how it goes, or leave some feedback/suggestions! I’d love to hear them.

There are 5 questions for each topic (and easy one for 10 points up to a tricky one for 50 points). click on the points for the chosen question, use the blue arrow to return to the front screen. These questions were written for a mid ability year 9 group. Could easily be adapted to suit any age of ability. Enjoy!

2 or more players required. Printable document.
Tried and tested by students in a 16-19 setting.
This game can be played by 2 or more people. Student can plays 1 V 1 or they can play in groups.
The pack can be printed and cut out. It can also be laminated to preserve quality and be reused again.
How to use: One student will hold the card above their head (without looking), the other student/s will use words to explain what is on the card, without actually saying the word on the card. If the student can guess the word on the card, they get to keep it (classed as a point). If a student cannot guess, they can pass on the card and it is put back in the pile and they loose their turn. The student with the most cards at the end of the game is a winner.
To increase the difficulty, you can add a timer.
Sometimes there are those 15 minutes you need to fill, but the kids STILL need to be engaging their brains! These two games are easy to have at the ready…and always a winner with the kids.

Trivia cards with Algebra 1 & 2, and Geometry (all-inclusive) math questions are the way to go! You can print these as 2-sided (directions included) or keep the answers separately.
This is the most useful product you can buy at the price. Why make your students study time boring when this product will be a fun and productive addition to your instruction.

You’ll find a ton of math products in My Shop.
This resource includes the letters and two styled games to use with the letters. Letters include both a photocopy black and white version as well as a colored version. Print the letters on cardstock. Then laminate. There are 8 of each vowel and 4 of each consonant. Also includes two blanks. Provide your students with the letters. Have the students use the letters to spell out spelling words, words within their units or give them random letters to come up with the highest valued words. Great for math (addition)
Additionally, there is a traditional styled Scrabble board with instructions and a score sheet handout. This resource is good for language unit by having the students total up vocabulary words, or just a great way to reward students by having them play Scrabble.
A simple resource for embedding some maths and English into a training session.
Use as a lesson warm up.
Use any number of the scrabble tiles to create a word or phrase then add the values together.
From my collection of Maths Vegas games I have made over the past few years. These have been a tremendous method of engaging the pupils in revision lessons. The pupils really look forward to these lessons and see them as a treat. A great way to trick them into learning and completing good collaborative work.
Here are two examples:
- A high Year 9 class (Edexcel GCSE)
- An AS-Level class (CIE)

Instructions:
Print off some money (Google) or buy some Monopoly money (eBay) to use.
Arrange pupils in groups and give each group £50.
Pupils bet between £1-20 on each topic (before seeing the question) - I find the best way is to instruct the pupils to place their bets on separate whiteboards at the front.
Pupils will double their money with a correct answer or lose it for a wrong answer.
Variations:
- Pupils can bet as much as they like on the last question.
- Pupils can play a 'joker' once so their bet in tripled.
