Will the next step in your career journey take you to North West England?

The North West of England is a vibrant, exciting and modern place to work and live. Dominating the region is Manchester, arguably England’s most exciting city and the unofficial capital of the north.

Just across the Pennines is Liverpool, fiercely proud of its own heritage and well able to put it up to its bigger neighbour in all matters from food to football. And, just to prove you can get away from it all, some of Britain’s most beautiful – and walkable – countryside, is in northern Lancashire and on the Isle of Man.

Living in North West England

Could the North West be right up your street? In a recent survey, teachers in the North West said they like to spend their spare time with friends and family, on outdoor activities and exercise, or getting lost in a good book, TV show or film.

At £144 - Liverpool boasts the lowest average monthly grocery bill from 28 of the UK’s largest cities and the house prices are just over £80,000 lower than the national average.

Data taken from UK House Price Index 2018, ABC Finance and an April 2019 Tes survey of over 2800 teachers in the UK.

Things to do

In the North West you can explore iconic cities that are as famous for their music scenes as their grand industrial buildings and museums, from The Beatles in Liverpool and the Stone Roses to Oasis in Manchester.

For the sound of silence turn to the Lake District or head for the bright lights of Blackpool.
