English Reading Intervention for Reluctant Readers – Highly Visual, Confidence-Building Sessions (37 Original Resources plus planning and tracking sheets)

This engaging English intervention pack is designed specifically for reluctant readers and learners who need accessible, confidence-building literacy support. The focus is not just on reading skills, but on helping students feel successful, capable and motivated when working with words and texts.

Each session begins with a highly visual PowerPoint quiz using original, engaging images to bring vocabulary and ideas to life. These interactive quizzes encourage students to actively participate as they identify book characters, words, rhymes, syllables, and other literacy challenges. The visual format helps reduce reading barriers and keeps learners focused and motivated.

The quizzes are fully accessible and easy to deliver, making them ideal for:

• 1:1 intervention
• Small group literacy support
• Whole-class starters or intervention sessions

Following the quiz, students complete a short independent task that reinforces the learning from the activity.
