Three linked lessons exploring how we think, how systems shape that thinking, and what happens to society when simplification hardens into division.

Fault Lines follows a single arc across three lessons. The first looks at binary thinking - the habit of reducing complex situations to two sides. The second looks at the systems that reward that habit: how algorithms, incentives and engagement mechanics quietly push people toward more extreme positions. The third looks at the consequence: how reinforced certainty becomes identity, and how disagreement becomes polarisation.

The lessons are designed to be taught in sequence, but each works as a standalone.
