IB DP Physics (2025) A2 Forces & Momentum Test - A2.T1

IB DP Physics end-of-topic test for Topic A.2 Forces and momentum, SL and HL, first assessment 2025: two complete question papers and two full mark schemes. A composite mini-paper mirroring the IB examinations: Paper 1A multiple choice, Paper 1B data analysis, Paper 2 structured questions. SL is 36 marks in 50 minutes, HL is 43 marks in 60 minutes.

What this test is, and what it is not

A checkpoint at the end of the topic: it assesses A.2 and teaches none of it. Every one of the 24 understandings is tested by at least one item. Those are sitting times, not teaching time. SL is the HL paper with the higher-level items stripped out, so a mixed class sits the same questions at two lengths, and every question is fresh-written, so students who worked the A.2 lesson packs meet unseen ones.

The grade boundaries are a starting point set by YPhysics, not the IB: change them to match your own cohort in the editable HTML, which holds the mark schemes and so is a teacher file.

Every marking point carries its AO tag: AO3 takes 17 of the 36 SL marks and 20 of the 43 HL, against the guide’s 50/50 split. Every multiple-choice item prints its key with a worked explanation of the common errors, and the mark schemes carry the model graph and the completed free-body diagram. Each document is a colour PDF with a printer-friendly B&W twin, in SI units and IB command terms. A print paper: there is no slide deck. Grades 11-12 (ages 16-19).
