A lesson planned for the identification and discussion of personification and pathetic fallacy in the opening chapters. The lesson explores what these key literal devices mean, key quotation analysis and why they are employed so much in the opening chapters.

The full PPT includes the whole lesson with video, objectives, discussion questions and worksheets - all fully resourced and explained in notes for the teacher.

Planned for Cambridge iGCSE, but could be adapted for other syllabuses and age groups. Please see my other lessons for the same novel.
