Children first draw a selection of their favourite things in the centre of their page (and not too small). Objects should be grouped with some behind others. Once drawn the work can be painted in bright colours. The background colour should be in a light tone so the objects stand out more; use water to achieve this. Colour mixing and blending paint are other skills that can be taught.
