An observation lesson on 'Poppies' by Jan Weir (AQA, Power and Conflict cluster). Differentiated LO and screen shot of the mark scheme. Starter = connotations with stretch and challenge question. Next students begin to read, gloss and summarise each stanza of the poem to show understanding. Students must then write a language based question on the text with a link back to differentiated LO to prompt more able students. Model answer and suggested quotations to support weaker students are included. Dictionaries and a copy of the poem (included) only require printing.
