This novel study is based on the novelette by Ernest Lehman, it is the edition currently on Amazon (The Overlook Press, 2000 ed.).

The novel is about J.J Hunsecker a ruthless columnist for ‘The Globe’ Newspaper, he has a sister, Susan, who he treats as his possession.

Sidney Falco, a press agent who wants to attain the prestige of Hunsecker agrees to falsely accuse Steve Dallas- Susan Hunsecker’s fiance and have him beaten up by rogue cop, Harry Kello. The implications of Sidney’s actions come back to haunt him once Susan Hunsecker plans revenge.
