Includes four PowerPoint resources for F. Scott Fitzgerald’s ‘The Great Gatsby’, for use with A-Levels. It was designed for the AQA specification, but can be used for other exam boards (including Edexcel, OCR). The resources cover a range of assessment objectives (particularly AO2, AO3 and AO4), which tend to be weaker areas among A-Level students.

The resources are as follows:

  1. Symbols and motifs in ‘The Great Gatsby’
  2. A queer reading of ‘The Great Gatsby’
  3. Critical interpretations of ‘The Great Gatsby’
  4. Conceptual quotes in ‘The Great Gatsby’ and the AQA pre-1900 ‘Love Through The Ages’ anthology. This final resource is predominantly for use in the AQA A-Level English Literature A Paper 1 Section C (the comparative question)

Some useful information but just a powerpoint with information on- no tasks or anything for students to complete and encourage higher thinking. Iif used lecture style each powerpoint takes about 15 mins to go through so could fill an hour lesson but not longer in this format.
