1 week planning focusing on Leeds Castle History

Aimed at a Year 2 (ability from P8-Yr 3 level writers)
Included is a 1 week detailed plan focusing on the royal history behind the castle.
Starts off by introducing chn to the history of the castle; chn then describe and include some of the history in their description and included some of the features of the castle.
Then planning moves on to King Edward 1st and Henry 8th’s ownership and how they changed/improved the castle.
Finally, changes made in 19th and 20th century.
The weeks ends with chn sequencing timeline and designing their own castle.

Planning can be adapted to suit you class’ needs. My chn produced some great writing this week, they really enjoyed learning about the history behind the castle. Prior to this, we learnt about castles in general (planning / resources are available in my resources) and focused on Leeds as we will be going there on a trip.
