10 Sentence Settings is a 5 lesson (one week) resource, which I have created to work on some aspects of writing in preparation for moderation/end of year assessment.
In this bundle, there are two of these.
This content uses SMART Notebook (a free version of this is downloadable) as I find it the most useful when teaching.
- aimed at children in years 5 & 6.
The children are provided with a picture, which they have to describe in only ten sentences. This ensures they think carefully about their sentence structure, language, punctuation to include as much detail as possible.
The focus of these 10 Sentences Settings are:
- handwriting
- basic sentence structure and word classes
- simple, compound and complex sentences
- fronted adverbials
- relative clauses
- edit/revising their own work
Both weeks comes with model texts, word banks and help sheets for days where these were used.
My year 5/6 children have produced some outstanding work from these.
