Great video for supply teachers and certainly gives some useful tips. I recently moved from senior management to part time supply and at one of my short term bookings I was confronted with young people who had driven their previous teachers out of their school. Needless to say, they were well versed at ignoring, it took a couple of weeks for them to settle down and I definitely used a range of strategies including; the seating plan, a little bit more shouting than is recommended. and a tough stance with the instigators. I kept smiling irrespective of their behaviour and I think it worked as they were able to get on with learning and made good progress. Also, I stopped having to raise my voice !
