Aimed at a mixed ability GCSE group - this lesson really helped progress the pupils in my class to understand the purpose of the third and final spirit. By the end of the lesson, all pupils could comment on Dickens’ language choices to present the Spirit of Christmas Yet to Come.

This lesson is differentiated to three levels: low, middle, and high.
Engaging starter, meaningful main task that will cater to all individuals, as well as a plenary that gets pupils to think about which spirit has the most impact on Scrooge.
Reading task of key extract is also differentiated so that pupils can select the quotations that they can analyse in depth to their ability.
Main task is differentiated with prompt questions for LA and further deeper analysis for HA.
