Revision sheets for year 12 and 13 A level Biology students to test their knowledge and application.
Each worksheet consists of a range of knowledge questions that help students to go over the main ideas from the cell division topic in chapter 6 in the Oxford OCR A level Biology book, followed by a selection of A level exam questions for them to practice their application, and finally the mark schemes and examiners notes for each question.
These revision worksheets are useful for both revision lessons and homework. They can be used in a range of ways but I have found the students have benefited the most when they carry out the following steps;
1. Answer the knowledge questions. Depending on the confidence of the student this can be done with or without the book.
2. Deal with any problem areas. This may be online, video's, teacher lead etc.
3. Make revision resources (mind maps, flip cards etc).
4. Try exam questions. Depending on confidence of student this may or may not be timed.
5. Mark using mark scheme and examiners report.
6. Highlight mistakes and record grade.
