This 85-page booklet is designed to support OCR A Level English Literature students with tracking their independent wider reading and study of the Gothic genre as part of Component 2. There are five sections with up to 13 challenges throughout:
- Section A: Gothic timeline, tropes, and reading lists with pages for students to complete a critical appreciation of a page from one of the texts from each reading challenge.

- Section C: pages for students to create author cheat sheets for key Gothic authors
- Section D: a glance at Dark Academia as a branch of the Gothic
- Section E: an exploration of Gothic on screen, including Tim Burton and Guillermo Del Toro film lists, adaptations, biopics, and TV series.
