Please noteWritten for the inferential testing content of AQA A-level Psychology (7182), Paper 2 Research methods: factors affecting the choice of statistical test, the sign test, and using critical values. The AQA specification names calculation only for the sign test, which also appears in AQA AS Psychology (7181). OCR H567 names five non-parametric tests, the Mann-Whitney U test, Wilcoxon signed ranks test, chi-square, binomial sign test and Spearman’s rho, whose criteria and use you must understand, plus the criteria for using a parametric test; it does not name the t-tests or Pearson’s r, and it does not say which tests you must calculate (its maths appendix gives “calculating a non-parametric test of differences” as an example). Critical values are generated by Study Hack from exact distributions, not copied from any exam board. Independent resource, not endorsed by any exam board.
