This resource, covering a week’s lessons, is aimed at Year 7 learners, and Star War fans. Learners are enticed to identify subject, verb and object in prepared sentences, using this amusing exchange between two Yoda-type mentors, Yara and Yono. Learners will practise flipping their sentences to imitate Yoda’s characteristic sentence structure : placing the verb at the end.
Enjoy this they will!

The resource is guaranteed to liven up routine-but-necessary grammar teaching. It can be used in learner groups by dividing the class into groups of two, three or more. Basic grammar rules and examples for quick reference, are added to the resource, in boxes.
Learners enjoy spotting the subject, object, and verb in a series of ‘fun’ interchanges between two imaginary characters. They love the freedom of turning normal grammar rules upside down, at the same time sharpening their own grammar skills. There are enough ideas and material included to pave the way for future lessons by encouraging learners to write their own dialogues, which can be performed for class members.
Light relief and new skills as well as dramatic skills can be added by encouraging learners to draw Yoda and bring their drawings to class for follow-up lessons.
