It covers the following Reverse transcriptase, Restriction endonucleases, in vivo and in vitro techniques,
In vivo - vectors, plasmids, transformation and identification using antibiotic resistance markers.
In vitro - PCR, primers, DNA polymerase, locating genes using DNA probes, DNA sequencing , Gel Electrophoresis, Restriction Mapping.

It then features DNA probes used in medicine, advantages and disadvantages of in vivo and in vitro techniques, uses of gene technology.

Gene technology - genetic counselling, gene therapy and genetic fingerprinting. (Cystic Fibrosis)
