About a Boy: Crossword Challenge (KS4, English) is a fun activity sheet designed to help test and recap pupils’ understanding of the novel by Nick Hornby. It features 30 clues which cover key characters, relationships, quotes, important plot points and telling details in the book.
This resource is designed with a GCSE English class in mind (14-16 year olds) in a Secondary School English class. In order to complete it, pre-teaching of the novel is required. The crossword would suit a revision/recap/consolidation class or a cover class as it can be completed by pupils independently or in groups. It’s a fun and engaging way to revise key aspects of this WJEC set text.
