This lesson starts with Faraday,s law of Electromagnetic Induction, before getting students to apply it to a motor. It then looks at factors which will change the direction of an induced current in a magnetic field before linking it to Fleming’s right hand rule. Finally practical applications of generators are explored and the workings of an AC generator, including the slip rings and brushes.
Paper 2 and 4 questions are used throughout this lesson, with all questions coming with either answers or a fully worked solution.
