A code breaker puzzle for adding and subtracting fractions. Students work out thirteen calculations, simplify each answer, look it up in the Code Box and write down the letter it unlocks, then unscramble the thirteen letters to find a clothing brand.

The calculations build from fractions with the same denominator to related denominators such as 4 and 8, then to pairs like 8 and 6 that need a common multiple. The deliberate trap: the Code Box includes the answers students get by adding the tops and adding the bottoms, so the wrong method still unlocks a letter and only shows up when the word will not unscramble.

Answers are included as a separate file. Two per A4.

Suitable for GCSE Foundation (AQA N8) and for Key Stage 3 classes working on fractions.
