Anagrams Starters for KS3

Need a literacy starter/activity that will encourage learners to apply their knowledge about letters, consonants, vowels and spelling?

Anagrams are a great solution. In this resource there are 12 anagrams worksheets that can be used as starters or form time activities.

There are two types of anagrams worksheets:

1. Cross-curricular: students will develop their knowledge of subject-specific vocabulary for six areas (Numeracy, Science, History, English, Geography, Physical Education)

2. General Themes: students will have to decipher the anagrams and identify the theme connecting all terms (colours, bugs, fruits & vegetables, animals, chocolates/sweets, famous pairs/couples)

This activity can be set up very quickly: all you need to do is print! Answer sheets are included, too.

With different levels of challenge across the worksheets, there’s something here for everyone.
