This animal eye matching activity helps children develop visual discrimination skills by matching close-up eye photos to the correct animal image.

This resource is designed to support careful looking, attention to detail, and early scientific observation skills. It is suitable for Early Years, Key Stage One, and SEND settings and can be used in continuous provision, workstation tasks, small group work, or one-to-one sessions.

The pack includes eight activity pages with three animals on each page. Children study the close-up photographs of animal eyes and match them to the correct animals. Two additional reference pages show each full animal photograph with its species name to support adults in identifying the images and guiding discussion.

This activity is simple to prepare, visually engaging, and motivating for learners who enjoy animals and real-world images. It offers a meaningful way to build vocabulary, focus, reasoning, and early science understanding through conversation and exploration.

The resource is ready to print and is a structured, high-interest task that encourages children to look closely and think carefully about the natural world.
