This presentation consists of:

  • Several user friendly examples which simplify this confusing topic.
  • Teacher led activities which demonstrate how to use the possessive apostrophe for both singular and plural possessive nouns.
  • Differentiated worksheets
  • It can be used as a cross curricular lesson in science (Living Things and would fall under the curriculum requirement of our local environment).
The theme of the presentation is British coastal birds and consists of two lessons: the first is for singular possession and the second is for plural possession.
There are differentiated activities for group 1 (pupils working towards national level), group 2 (pupils working at national level) and group 3 (pupils working at greater depth).
There are several did you know pages (no written activity is required); these pages provide interesting facts about British coastal birds.
The worksheet activities correspond with the slides. I certainly would recommend that the teacher runs the first couple of slides and questions in tandem.
