Ingredients

150g plain flour
75g butter or margarine
50g sugar
3 eating apples or 2 cooking apples
handful of sultanas or raisins
25g sugar

Optional: cinnamon

Equipment
Mixing bowl, wooden spoon, vegetable peeler, vegetable knife, chopping board, baking dish

Method

  1. In a bowl add the butter or marg to the flour and rub in.
  2. Add 50g of sugar and mix.
  3. Core, peel and slice the apples.
  4. Place in the slices into a baking dish.
  5. Sprinkle sultanas or raisins on top.
  6. If you are using cooking apples, sprinkle the additional sugar on top. You will not need the extra sugar for eating apples.
  7. Place the crumble topping onto the sliced apples.
  8. Bake in a preheated oven at 190C/170 fan/gas mark 5 for around 25 minutes.
