A fully resourced one hour lesson looking at applying for a job. Ideal for PSCHE, drop-down day lesson, or split over tutor time lessons. This lesson is great for those short of planning time, but would still like to teach a well-resourced lesson.

The lesson includes:
Lesson plan
PowerPoint presentation
Job description and person specification activity
Letter of application activity
Teacher notes for both activities

This lesson addresses issues such as: the difference between essential and desirable criteria, top employability skills, what a job description and person specification is, how to write a good application.

This lesson would follow on well from the lesson 'how to find a job- careers lesson' (also on TES). The lesson plan includes suggestions for making the lesson more physically engaging if space and time allows.
