This lesson explores the reasons why Thatcher won the elections of 1983 and 1987. It looks at the reasons why the Conservatives were popular but also other factors which contributed to their success such as the ‘Falklands factor’ and the unpopularity of Labour. There is a worksheet included and two hyperlinked clips, one from 1983 and one from 1987.
