This is a lesson that I made to help teach the AQA Further Maths Course with high-ability Year 11s. The lesson goes through how to solve linear equations using the “do the same to both sides” method. There are plenty of examples throughout that range from quite basic equations right the way to fairly complex equations involving algebraic fractions as well as examples of how they have to create a linear equation from a worded problem. I have added the answers to these slides however haven’t added full working out as I did it on the board with my group at the time. If you click on the green ticks on the example slides, they reveal the answers to the examples. There are also questions and a worksheet to go alongside this lesson.
