This is a complete lesson on the background to the tensions in Vietnam from 1945 to 1954.
It includes a powerpoint with a short video clip which looks at the reasons for tension leading to the involvement of the USA. The lesson ends with the Battle of Dien Bien Phu in 1954.
Two worksheets are included together with a series of class notes for the students and also a set of notes on the Geneva Agreement
A ‘write an account’ 8 mark question is also included based on how tensions grew in Vietnam.
