A lesson to build upon the ideas of barriers of defence covered at KS3. A starter activity to recap KS3 content and a circus activity where student's are encouraged to explain how defence mechanisms stop pathogens entering the body, with a worksheet to complete. My lesson involves some pupil modelling of how white blood cells detect and react to pathogens with a comic book strip activity to follow which can be completed for homework. Pictures are provided to support lower ability students.
