Get both Walking-Talking Mocks (Paper 1 + Paper 2) and save: https://www.tes.com/teaching-resource/aqa-paper-1-and-2-walking-talking-mock-bundle-13601332

A complete, ready-to-teach walking-talking mock for AQA GCSE English Language Paper 2: Writers’ Viewpoints and Perspectives (8700), built around the current paper format for 2026/27.

The teacher leads the class through the whole paper, one question at a time, with timings.

Students learn how to use the 1 hour 45 minutes well before they sit a silent mock.

What’s included

21-page booklet (Word + PDF): a teacher guide with a timing plan, the full exam-style student paper, teacher marking guidance and a student self-review page.
Two paired sources:

Source A, “Queueing for the View”: an original 21st-century article about the crowds on Yr Wyddfa (Snowdon).

Source B: an extract from Isabella Bird’s 1879 account of climbing Long’s Peak (public domain).

All five questions in the current format:

Q1: choose four true statements (tick boxes)
Q2: infer the differences (8 marks)
Q3: language analysis (12 marks)
Q4: compare the writers’ perspectives (16 marks)
Q5: a newspaper article giving your viewpoint (40 marks)

A scripted walk-through for every question: what to say, how long to talk and how long students write.

Two 21-slide PowerPoints: a fully editable version and a fixed-layout version. Both have the teacher script in the speaker notes, models built on invented examples so nothing is given away, and full-screen timing slides.

Indicative content and mark guidance for every question, written in our own words. It includes the rules that limit marks: using only one text in Q2 or Q4, evidence from outside the set lines in Q3, and a Q5 response that misses the task.

Why teachers use it

  • It builds exam timing and stamina before the real exam.
  • It gives students confidence reading nineteenth-century non-fiction.
  • It works for Year 10 or Year 11, whole class or intervention.
  • You can print it and teach it with no preparation.
